a little 97 prelude advice
ive been looking at this 97 auto prelude and besides a small paint scrape on the front bumper it looks great.. the tranny has been replace and as ive been reading auto trannys go bad quick i guess.. im wondering for the price of $4300 is this a good buy? there are no mods to the car, has infinity speakers, alpine mp3 deck and a big alpine 4 channel amp. any input would be great
What about the rest of the body? Any rust? Clean or salvage title? How much mileage? Any maintenance records?
Then again, I don't recommend buying an automatic.

rest of the body seems good.. tiny hair line scratches sinces it black its notice-able. no dents and i didnt see any rust.. im in So Cali so cars around here dont rust like out east or other areas. clean title and the miles is at 140k.. i dont think he has any records of anything except the tranny repair which was around 6 months ago with a 1 yr warranty
auto have that much trouble?
auto have that much trouble?
yes it is. I took the liberty of running the kbb for you and it's worth $6,700 good cond. make sure he did the big maintenance. (timing belt/water pump, valve adj, etc.)
o thnx.. i checked kbb but reason why i asked is because prices are sure different from the book.. such as a 94 civic hatch the market price is higher then it normally is for some reason . i wasnt sure if this would be the case also
If you're just wanting it as a looks car, go for it; that is a great price. If you're wanting any kind of performance from it, save your money for a manual. The automatic Prelude is pretty weak. We need all five gears to stay in our revs. Even the manual doesn't keep us up there as much as we need.
