If i wouldn`t have purchased an EG in 93`, I don`t even know what I`d be doing right now. The purchase of that car is basically the reason why i`m doing what i`m doing. I almost bought a stang, but it was a little too pricey. I only wanted a GT. It`s kind of amazing to think how that one simple purchase led to all of this. "All of this" is in regard to working in the industry for over 4 years now and possibly the rest of my life. `m talking about the automotive industy in general, not this "import" bullshit

I probably would get a 99-00 hatch CX and throw in a b18c5 motor and beef up from there. It would be nice to have a newer car. . . .. but in time my car will be supah nice.

I would of gone with a 90+ Eagle talon or a 94+ Eclipse GSX. AWD and factory turbo rule. Ive had waaaaaaaaayyyyy too much trouble trying to get my damn hybrid to run. 9 months its been sittin in my garage... never once turned over... Dont get me wrong i still love my hatch, but its too easy to make the DSM's go fast fast fast. AWD helps a ton in the winter here too.

For the price and reliability of a used car its real hard to beat. Everyone else who bought a used car of the same year has had major expenses in replacing parts. Fords, chevy's, eclipses, but my honda is still running, not as strong but still going.
Hopefully for antoher 2 years till I graduate and get a real job.

yes, I have had my share of "other" cars, I have worked on every car you can imagine and I would take a Honda/acura again without even thinking. I probably would have been better off in an ITR over my Si becuase basically all the money i have spent on my car to make it faster and handle better would have been there in "stock" form, but who's to say I would just leave that car stock too. My next car will probably be a CivicTypeR if they ever get off their asses and bring it here.

 

I wouldnt have bought a civic thats for sure. I love my car, dont get me wrong, but for what im going to put into it to make it fast i could have bought somthing nicer/faster. I was a ricer when i bought my civic. i thought body kits were cool, and i was gonna buy altezzas. Then i realized all those people are freaking idiots and have no idea what there talking about. and i wanted to go fast. not look good.

 

I would have bought a 91 crx si and dropped my b18c in it. I'm very happy with my eh2 though.

 

If I could do it again I would want a factory turbo and RWD. That sounds like a fun combination. I think the only affordable way to do that is like a 95 Nissan 240SX ... jerk out the KA, and insert a DET.

The only problem with that is I my GS-R. I mean I really love this car. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't put a smile on my face. I don't know if I would feel the same with a Nissan ... and therefore I am still hesitant to buy. I don't know if any of you guys know what I mean.

 

I thought I was the only one who debated between a Civic and a Mustang GT! Glad to hear somebody else did too. I went with the 99 EX and a 600cc motorcycle. That way I can get great mileage and a kick *** fast ride without spending an additional $10k in mods on a 1.6L engine so it could beat a V6 Mustang. Ugh. Of course I guess I could've ponied up the extra $2-3k and gone with the SI...

the only other cheap setups I would even consider would be an older early 90's golf with a swap or a 240sx to go the sylvia route.

but my hondas are sick for reliability, and I prefer to track a FF much more than FR or MR chassis.
