Lights Fading in and out??

Default Lights Fading in and out??

Ok my headlights and interior lights started fading in and out and the idle would als do the same. I took it to the shop and asked whats wrong and they said it was the altenator. I thought because my car has 260km on it that this makes sense, Today I put a new altenator in it and guess what? It still does it!!
Seems like everyone I talk to doesnt have a clue whats wrong with it because other then the car having a pulse it runs like a top.
Anyone help me out here?

Did you charge/replace the battery after you replaced the alternator?
Have you checked all your grounds?
Did they propperly tighten all connections to the alternator?

Yup, sorry forgot to mention I bought a new battery too, tightened everything down, and rechecked.

What RPM is it idling at? Stock is usually ~750 warm (higher for automatics), but I've seen out-of-tune, dirty engines barely doing 400. At 500 rpm and less, your alt is making no juice, and your motor is on the verge of stalling out. If you say the flickering lights are happening at the same time as the engine 'fades in and out', then its the motor thats idling way too low, which doesn't spin the alternator enough to power the lights/etc. Go search on how to adjust the idle according to a HELMS manual.

Otherwise it would be something the alternator interfaces with (relay or such), or you have a bad ground on the alt wires, tranny, or somewhere close to either.
