1991 Accord Distributor
My 1991 Honda Accord 4dr EX wouldnt start, i did the normal checks and found out that i didnt have any spark. As from reading this great website and talkin to a few Honda mechanics, the ignitor as well as the cam sensor in the distributor is usually the problem. Fine, i found a few distributors for $100 to $125 on numerous websites, including ebay.
All of the websites state that there should be a # stamped on the base of the distributor, TD31U / TD34U, and they have to know that number to make sure that I purchase the right distributor, neither one of these 2 numbers is anywhere on my distributor?????
Is there a difference in these 2 distributor #s?
Can i use a VIN breakdown to find out which one came in the car from the factory?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, since the car is down
Thanks,

If you only need the igniter, then you will not need to buy a whole distributor. Double check your repair manual. Make sure you know what part you need and then read how to replace it. You can call a parts house and tell them your car details, they should be able to tell you what part is the correct one for your car. Of the igniter and the cam sensor, it is the igniter that is more likely to go. And it is the igniter that provides the spark.
