Assymetrical means that a certain side of the tire must always face outside. Some tires can be assymetric but not directional, other tires can be directional but symmetric. In the case of the SP5000's, I think they are both, but don't hold me to that.
Nah, they're assymetric but not directional. Just make sure they're all mounted with the right side facing the outside of the car.
Ah~ SP 5000.. I loved the traction especially in winter but it didn't last me 1 year. Actually somehow I was misaligned and ate up the inner tread. Bad exeriance so I will never buy them again. I guess not much of the tires fault but a bad experiance is a bad experiance. Dunlops slicks is a different story.

Exactly.
Only tire I know of that's both assymetric and directional is the BFG g-Force KD.

The Direzionale is of course directional but it's also symmetrical.

So is the verdict that they are assymetrical but not directional correct?
In other words I should be able to cross rotate them i.e. front-right going to rear-left and front-left going to rear-right. I have found that this rotation extends tire life significantly and wears the tread blocks equally from both direction.
