1) Is there a difference between the jdm type r front ends and the jdm non-r front ends other than the lights having a black housing for the Rs with the HID option and chrome housing for the non-Rs? ie. if you changed the lights in a non-R front end to black housing and grabbed an R front lip, would you essentially have an R front end?

2) My car was tuned with a VAFC2 and the engine light comes on every now and again....which I know is normal. Then it randomly goes off for a while. What's up with that? should I be worried?

1 yes, I'm pretty sure that they are the same, minus the lip and headlights.

2, Is the VTM wire hooked up? Its a blue wire off of the VAFC, and it attaches to the blue/black wire going into the ECU. This was the case for my obd2b dc2r.

 

Walker111 is right, if you get the lip and the black headlights you would have the TypeR front end. the fenders, hood, bumper, grill, etc.. are all the same. The chrome headlights are the difference. Also the black headlights come in both HID and non HID.
