ba18a1
what is a good setup for a b18a1
1-all-motor
2-turboed
3-supercharged
what would be better for a every day driver that would make good power but still be reliable for every day driving but good for autocross and/or the drag strip.

I'm in the same boat as you are man. I got a b18 in crx. I started with nitrous just for fun but i'm fixin to go turbo. The Ls/V-Tec is a nice set up for DD and i would be cheaper. I had one in my integra and loved it. Just look into it.
LS VTEC for sure.
Done right, it will last just as long as any other B and make more power than most.
Look at my sig for my time.
That's with stock B16 cams too. It's my rusty daily driver as well.

haha man I'm undecided too. My daily currently has a b18a1 in it and I really dont know what to do. I still have my b16 so lsvtec would be relatively easy, but so would turbo or supercharger. Oh well good luck on whatever you decide.

Well with any of your choices youa re going to have to get a tune...I like the LS turbo for the power and it can be good for a DD and good on gas..atleast my set-up can be, i'm not in boost until 4K so its easy to DD but not so good for a AutoX car but I don't do that...you could go with a small turbo for AutoX but then your in boost a lot sooner and gas millage would drop...SC would be good for a AutoX car and DD but I don't know since the LS is already tourque you might not be as reliable on wet roads or snow...an LS/Vtec is kind of an extesive build so if you have the time and money or skills to do it on your own...I'd say SC is the easiest to do Turbo is going to make the most power (most likely) and LS/Vtec will be the most reliable (if done right)

Will varry an insane amount. Why do people have to ask questions this off the wall.
OP you need to search a ton, and think of alot of things like motor wear price etc.

I know this, I just seen there were other people on here that have lsvtecs and I was wondering what mpg they were getting.

why not ask those who have your setup planning instead of everyone?

ive been told by 1 of the top engine builders in the country that an ls/vtec, if built right, can make serious power and still be a DD. then again, thats for any engine really.
but an ls/vtec isnt really that crazy of a setup......just making a non vtec engine, have vtec. in my opinion, it might even be more efficient.
i mean with my b16a and a chipped ecu running rich, i got 43mpg on the highway driving from homestead (south of miami) to orlando.

the only supercharger available for the LS is a small m45 unit by JR. same as the sohc's
thats why i didnt say that. turbo is his best bet.

Isn't this coming from a man retrofitting an m62 on a B series?

no, the JRSC kit for the B series is an m62.
i was originally planning on retro-fitting an m62 to a D series. but for all the time, money, and effort.... by the end of the day, the B series will make more power.

oooh I must either be smoking crack or forgetful, wait no its both
I'll not jack this thread anymore but IIRC from something you told me the m62 is still kinda small for a B.
