So the past couple days i have been driving and whenever i get on the throttle i go threw first and second just fine but when i get to third at around 6000rpms my car like studders and it feels like i hit rev limiter and my CEL comes on. but when i turn my car off and back on the CEL is gone, and i just got put in new spark plugs. what could the problem be? I have a constant 3rd gear grind would my tranny going out cause this to happen?? please give me some input. i have a 94 gsr in a 95 civic cx

 

Having the third gear grind has nothing to do with the CEL.. It's common for a worn syncro to grind at high rpm's Your resolution = GM syncromesh friction modified.

As far as the CEL.. Pull the code and see what it is.. Either jump the service connector off if you know how or run by autozone and they'll pull it for you.
