Default tire pressure

winter time.

whats a good tire pressure to run for maximum traction and still be safe for the daily driver?

I'd just maintain the pressure you're currently running. Just remember to check and adjust as the weather changes, because temperature will affect tyre pressure (roughly 1 psi per 10 degrees).

Car manufacturer's recommended pressure which can be found either on the glove box or door jam or in the owner's manual. You can then adjust the pressure up or down 2psi at a time to suit you specific needs of handling, comfort, feel...etc.

For best winter traction get winter tires if you don't have them already.

But be sure not to exceed the maximum pressure rating written on the side wall of the tire itself.
