Looks pretty good, better than the 999 methinks. The pipes look funky to me though.
What I don't understand is why doesn't Ducati just make a 1200 since WSBK is allowing 1200 cc v-twins. Why leave 100cc on the table?

Is that actually in stone now?
I think the front look a little too much like the Triumph 675... but I was the weird guy who liked the XX9's.

Not really, the RR's headlights are triangular, the 916/996/998 are more rectangular. And if you really wanna get technical, the 916 designer himself (Massimo Tamburini) said he was inspired by the NR750 when he designed the 916.

Just something I like to keep in my back pocket for when Ducatisti decide they want to do some Honda bashing or try to claim that the Japanese have never come up with something original.

great. it looks japanese.
Nice to see they've finally gotten with the times and adopted the 4-year design cycle. 'cuz everyone knows you can't make a bike for nigh on a decade and have it keep relevance.
as for the displacement, they don't really need to make it much higher. also, don't forget, their first WSB racer was 851cc's, not a full liter as the rules allowed.
