hood fitment question
I found an SiR style hood for a good price but i dont know if it will fit. It is usdm fitment but the car its on now has jdm headlights. Will it fit right with my usdm headlights or is it all totally different?
do you have jdm sir or "zc" headlights, are your "jdm" headlights the same dimensions as the us counterparts or are they the larger sir ones. if you do have the sir ones only the sir hood will fit.
I dont have jdm lights. Im interested in buying an sir style cf hood from someone but not sure if it will fit my car since he has jdm headlights. im not sure which ones he has...
on the topic of carbon fiber hoods...I'm working on my sons 88 CRX after he rear ended someone, and replaced the radiator support, lights etc...his CF hood just came in, anf he wants to put in pins, (probably cheaper than a new latch cuz his is toasted) but are they alone secure enough? And is there a special technique for drilling the CF material? I would think it would get stringy and fray...
TIA
Mike

put tape all around where you drill on the hood..and yes the pins alone can keep the hood down, theres cars going 200mph in the 1/4 mile with only hood pins,(although most have more then 2)

You dont need any special technique to drill cf, just spot drill then drill to size
i would put masking tape on the area your drilling, just makes the hole cleaner.

i know haters dont get on my case about the headlights/corners
im in process of re-doing that..possibly lightly tinted OEM with amber corners, who knows.

"Newark Built Kandy SiC-RX", I would just get the amber corners and call it a day...I think the black headlights flow well with your color scheme and look pretty nice.

Yea thats what im gonna do and see how i like it.
The light pattern on those projectors isnt that bad, i can actually see better with them then the originals.
and dont worry, the angel ring isnt hooked up. If i had the choice it wouldnt be there.
Yea for next season its on my list- amber corners and turn signals.
