Default Trying to buy an SI. Dealer advice?

My dad is currently in California so he is checking the dealers for me while he is there. I thought I'd be able to maybe get one MSRP or below in LA because the dealers here are giving me crap about they don't care to sell it to me for MSRP because they can just sell it to someone else for more.

My dad asked his friend in fleet sales at one of the dealerships in LA though and he said $5000 more than MSRP. Anyone know where I can get one near LA for MSRP or below? Or maybe something some tips to avoid this "we get limited quantities so we must sell over MSRP" crap. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I got my 06' Si for MSRP at Chapman Honda in Tucson, but I'm not sure about the 07's. Also, Phoenix is only about 3-4 hours from Vegas...Maybe try there.

my advice is to not buy any civic over $25,000 cause that is a little too expensive for a civic

Call any dealer nearby and tell them what you are looking for. Tell them "I'll come down and by it ASAP if you can sell it to me for $xxx".

When they know you're serious about buying, it's a lot easier. Plus you can do it from your own couch

Don't count on paying LESS than MSRP, by the way. Expect to pay between MSRP (good price for you!) and about 1k over MSRP.

I sent out price quote requests and they're telling me there is a markup except for one, which is a waiting list. One of the markup ones did tell me two of them are coming in next week though so I'll see about trying the "I'll come down ASAP for $xxx"

I meant to say "buy" not "by", for the record

Also, expect to wait for the si, and be grateful if you don't. Mine took about 6 weeks, but it's a 2007 so there weren't as many around...

I'm getting a 07 TW Si in roughly two weeks. I got it for sticker price. I talked them off 1,700 from the price.

Hooray, I've got some offers.
In Utah, they offered me MSRP with $300 for registration in NV.
There's one in Arizona that's asking me if I'm interested in a pre-owned 06 Si with 160 miles on it. I'm pretty skeptical about used...even if it is that low of miles. I kind of have this feeling that I should just pay a little more to get a brand spanking new, unless you guys have thoughts on otherwise.
If not that, their motto is "We <u>will not</u> be undersold" so maybe they'll beat the Utah price(they're a smaller city/town so I'd imagine they don't have a lot of buyers).

Findlay Nolte Honda @ Kingman, AZ for the preowned 2006 Si Coupe with 160 miles priced at $20,395 if anybody cares.

I'm definitely going for a brand new one and I think I'm going to go for the sedan anyway. Going to the Utah Dealership this weekend hopefully to reserve the one coming in.

Financing outside from the dealer always helps to drive down the price...But I'm hoping you are already doing that

Seems like you're the first on the board to get the Si Sedan. Congrats (even if it's a sedan ).
