If we can figure out my problem Bret we are racing eother Friday night or Saturday at VMP TnT. I have narrowed it down to the MSD Dizzy or AEM EMS, something is causing it to break up bad

It is BUT my buddy said it doesnt seem to want to turn off which doesnt make sense since we havent changed a thing! Unless the speed sensor went bad or is unplugged?

Fire up your laptop and take the car for a ride. I had the same problem where I thought my car was breaking up at high rpms. After dicking around with a new cap, rotor, plugs and a bunch of other things I found out my vss had stopped giving a signal or input to the aem. My speedo still worked but the aem was reading 0mph so two step would not shut off.

I will try that in about two hours or so, I will go to my buddie's house where I can pick up a brand new AEM 1040U box and also brand new MSD dizzy. I will check what you said first then try the MSD Dizzy if that doesnt solve it then try to download my Map itno the new EMS and try that. Wish me luck!

i told you or your guys to check that pin ive sheared two stock msd pins till i made my own and havent had a problem since.they make the pin to short and the load spinning it wears it out.
i made a new pin with a tighter fit and alittle longer to the edge of the ring to get a better bit.

sucs because i had a spare with me that you could of had to finish the day

We run those on our cobalt. They are not bad. You just have to take extra precautions and it will hold together just fine.

ecotec distributor is a slight bit different, than the honda one, it use a hex key going into the cam, so it would not have this problem. Does you know good. Sorry you are having issues, we have used msd products on all our hondas ,gm's, fords, forever and never have issues. Most issues are install related, but this just looks like a faulty component. Msd is replacing it so I dont see the need to slam the product, nobody else has tried to come out with a viable alternative for the old honda distributors. Tony's trigger is great, but not an option for everyone.
Everyone is quick to jump on the band wagon and quick to jump off.....people act like this aftermarket stuff will never break...lol
