Steering Knuckle help
I have a 95 Honda Civic. After stripping the steering knuckle ball joint (the one that goes into the lower control arm), I went to a local Honda dealer and replaced the ball joint. The new ball joint didn't have a groove for the C clip that holds it in place into the steering knuckle. It had to be pressed in. Other than that it was exactly like the old one. Will that be a problem? Thanks for any help in advance.
new ball joints dont have the c clip. its fine. you wouldnt need it anyway. honda probably realized it was redundant which is why new balljoints dont need the c clip.
if you think about it, once its all bolted together, that balljoint is not going to want to move in the directoin the c clip functions anyway. so its all good.
now the wheel bearing c clip, THATS IMPORTANT! and easy to forget! especially after youve already pressed the new hub back in... doh!

no i dont think so. the oem lower ball joints on my mom's accord did not have a circlip installed, but the new ones i bought came with them so i put them in. the press fit should be good to hold them i woudl think.
huh, i didn't know that they didn't come with them anymore. majestic just mailed me some balljoints and some circlips, so i'm going to give them an earful if the balljoints dont have grooves.
see i have an new knuckle the whole thing but it was of an hf and i have an 88 dx so like the axel dint fit the knuckle so now im in the begining of taking out the berings and **** but is dont quite know if u can help def will b apreciated
