Upper rear ball joint ?'s
I have a 1993 Prelude SI and I believe I need a new passenger side upper rear ball joint. I can pull on the top of the wheel and hear a clanking sound. it looks like there is a little play in the upper ball joint. It also makes a clanking sound when I hit any size bump in the road. This is the only thing I can find loose. I can only find the complete A-arm for a replacement. After doing some research I found that replacing the entire a-arm is supposed to be the only way to fix it. I find that hard to believe. I have been reading some posts in the archives and I found that the front can be fixed by using a ball joint from another vehicle. Can the rear be fixed the same way? If so what vehicle can I use or what part # can I go buy? If I didn't search good enough, I apologize.
Thanks for any help
Thanks for any help
Worldsuspension just emailed me back. They do not carry the rear upper control arms. I guess I will just have to pay $160+ from my local parts store or buy a used one off ebay and hope it is not bad.
I looked at SPC's website and the same adjustable ball joint(#67165) is used on the front of 1995-98 Acura 2.5TL and 1992-94 Vigor as well as 92-02 Prelude rear and 92-96 Prelude front. Summit racing has it for $79.99 and parts america has a generic brand for $51.48. I will look for a cheaper non adjustable one for the Acura's before I order them. The car is not lowered and I have no plans on lowering it. Either way it is cheaper than the new replacement arm and more dependable than buying a used one off ebay for about $50.
