Default Black bumper over exhaust

Well I just noticed today that my rear bumper is pretty black due to the exhaust. I just started happening and i dont know what could cause this. I know sometimes this is caused by running too rich but I havent changed anything to cause it to do so. So if anyone has any info plz inform me of whats happening. thanks.

and im not throwing any codes.

do you have aftermarket exhaust?
It could just be really close to your bumper and causing it to burn the paint...

yes i have an aftermarket exhaust but Ive had it for a while now and it just started to do this like 2 weeks ago. I have an air/fuel gauge and it says im running rich but im not sure how much or anything. Just when ever i give it gas goes straight to green. (which is normal I think) And the paint isnt burning. Its just soot covering it.

Are you tuned? Have you tried resetting your ecu? Is it colder where you are located now?

Resetting the ecu would adjust the fuel curve and graphs for the weather where you are.

and do you do this by just by disconecting the negative terminal or by unpluging the ecu?

to reset the ecu, there is a fuse box in the engine bay on the passenger side. inside it there are 2 fuses, one for the ecu and one as the back up pull them both out for about 5 mins and plug them back in...voila!

You also need to pump the brakes a couple times to get rid of the power the car has retained.
