Default Racing Medallion Exhaust G/B

I am going to get a tanabe racing exhaust for my itr. Just curious, is this system a good one? Does it make a lot of noise(louder then hiper/5zigen?) Where in power band is there most prominent gain? ok thx

hey disorder.... i want an exhaust that isn't too loud with maybe mid range or high range power. Does the medallion exhaust have these qualities?

The RM exhaust is kind of loud. It has three restrictions but I can't remember the exact locations (flange connecting to the cat, before the muffler, and ....). Overall it's a good exhaust after you get rid of the restrictions.

How loud a system is, is in the ear of the beholder. The older one gets they realize that stuff being loud isn't a good idea. I'd say the Tanabe is about on par with the other sytems out there for noise. But it does have a bottle neck at the B pipe flange. Please see the attached picture. The view on the left is the Tanabe witht he bottle neck removed and a 2-1/2" ID taper welded in. The view on the right is of the Tanabe B pipe flange after a 2-1/2" cat was on for 1-2 weeks, notice where the exhaust was hitting the flange.



Here's the side shot, the Tanabe as received is 2" OD x 2" long and then opens to 60mm.
