Port and Polish head, small question
Is there any place where I won't have to take out the cams and valves myself? I am uncomfortable with this, and would rather just send the whole head out. Is this a bad idea?
So any of them will just disassemble the head for me? I mean is this a common think, morons like me getting their head ported and polished (no, not my dick, the head on my car) and not wanting to remove everything.
Send it out and upgrade the valvetrain? Then when it comes back, just bolt it back on. I hope to do this by the end of this year...If finances permit.

Well, getting the stuff out is the easy part...just take the bolts off the cam caps and then set the head on the floor, wad up a small towell and put it under the combustion chamber you want to take the valves out of and take a wrench (like a the sized ones that have the circle on one end and an open end on the other, 3/4" in my case) and push down real good on the retainer until the keepers are exposed then with needle nose pliers take out the keepers and presto, a free spring, retainer, and valve. Of course you'll never be able to get it back in that way, but at least the stuff is out. Oh ya you'll want to wrap that wrench with a nice hand towell or something, cause it will start to dig into your hand real nice.

i would to. For the install i would have a shop do that, but u still have to make sure and remove the head properly to avoid warping it.
My concern is re-installing the cams and not properly tightening the journals (sp?) causing problems.
