Do the bolt and hammer trick. Just turn the bolts a bit and then give it repeated gentle hits with the hammer, it takes a while but ti will work.
Or do what I do, go to one of those repair shops that offers free brake inspections. Let them take the drum off for you, measure the wear, then put everything back on. When you get your car home everything will already be lose for you.

sounds stupid but make sure the ebrake isn't up, i did that the first time back in the day, took me a while to figure out it has to be down, ha
