Default Need some help with aftermarket tach.

Ok I got a tach and tryed to install it the only problem is which wire to connect the green tach feed wire to. The honda tech manual says the blue wire from the coil is the stock tach feed. So I spliced into it and I get no reading on tach. Also the selector switch on tach is set to 4 cyl.

Anyone have any ideas why it wont work. thanks

stupid question, but do you have the power wire hooked up?

the blue wire on the dizzy or at the ecu is the correct wire so it should be working.

Get a Inline Slpicer. They looks like this. they
are usually blue. Connect that to the Distributor on the 2 wire plug. I belive its the blue wire. Make sure you have a good ground. as well for pwr

if you dont want to run a wire all the way to the engine you can use the blue wire behind the cluster ... all hondas have the tach wire theres just no connection if you car doesnt have a tach. this is what i did and works great.

ground is good
switched power in good

I'll try to hook it up behind the cluster.

I might have bought a bad tach to Its off ebay so maybe thats the problem. It is new in box so I don't know. I'll try to hook it up on my brothers car to see it it will work also. but thanks for the quick replys

Hmmm, well here is what i would do, Hook the wires back up,

Pwr to fuse box
Yellow to lights or the fuse for a quicktest
Black ground it out
Green goes into the dizzy plug where the Blue wire is.
start the car up. see if it still fucked up. then post back :D
