Default D16a6/y8 (minime) Into 87 CRX

Searched around couldnt find an answer. I got a 91 civic sedan that i have the minme in. Once my ship gets off deployment im going to put that engine into my 87 crx and turn it into my track car.

Was there anything special that i needed to do to drop it in?

i.e axles, linkege, etc....

A k24 is going into the sedan case anyone was wondering.

Yes what kind of motor is in it?

When I put my 93 B16A into my 87 Crx I needed new Hasport Engine/Trany mounts. The tranny need minor welding but fit smooth.

To switch over the wiring harnesses I had to get a connector or adapter from 93' JDM to 87' USA was time consuming and a little extra money than i wanted but well worth it because your CRX will still be stock inside and plug/play.

Youll need/Want 91' and up integra front axles and new ones made for acura integra.

New shift Linkage and you should be good to go.

Post more if any questions no email so.... 86CRX

http://www.redpepperracing.com

Read the FAQ and search in the Technical-->Swaps forum. No one makes mounts to swap an 88+ d-series into an 84-87 Civic/CRX so they'll have to be custom made. A few have done it, but it is very few because it's rather a PITA and most people who are going to go to that much trouble will swap in a b-series. You will also find a lot of threads here on H/T that discuss it if you search in the CRX / EF Civic archives for "d16a1".
