Default Amount of power gain from performance parts

I added a K&N filter to the stock intake on my 1991 Accord EX. I know I gained about 2.5 miles per gallon (up to 22.5mpg from 20mpg) in the city by adding the K&N, but I do not know how much horsepower I got. I know the throttle response is better, as well, but the car does feel more powerful. My next addition will be NGK Iridium IX spark plugs and MagStar 8mm spark plug cables.

I have heard conflicting reports about the amount of power I gained from the K&N filter...Some people said it is only 2 or 3 horsepower, while others are saying 10 to 15 horsepower. The engine is F22a4 block, so if anyone can tell me the real amount of power I gained, I'd appreciate it.

Don't know but I think you have to disconnect the battery for a couple of min to reset the battery when doing something like that. Then let it idle for a while to register that you have added something to the engine. Could be wrong but I know some cars you have to do this.

If you're getting any significant power increases its because you're driving a poorly maintained car, not because those parts are so good.

OMG RED PLUG WIRES!

there is little to no gain from adding the drop in filter.

there was a test done comparing a papr filter to a drop in k and n andthe k and n filter had a 0.1 hp loss on the dyno. so no there is no difference. the only thing thats different is that its reusable

spark plug wires = 50 hp if you use 1000mm!
red ones add an additional 57.2 DYNO PROOVEN.
Spark plugs will get you another 80-100hp depending on the brand.

now that im done. no the k&n will not add any power, nor will plugs and wires. they will help with response but you will not see any hp difference.

there are hondas in the 11's and 12's still using the factory oem plug wires. so please tell me why your 90 accord need "performance" wires?

I don't believe people when they say "it feels more powerful". For one, it's psychology, it's like the whole thing with people believing that they're "better" because they took an aspirin. I'm not trying to be an *** I'm just saying. If you want to be certain of exactly how much more "power" you have, dyno it if you have the means. Whoever said 10-15 is way over. You'd only see gains like that on a K motor or if you already have work done; or if they're Mugen or Spoon, but even then it still depends.
