Did you already go through insurance, this is going to be considered a total. The title will be considered salvage.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by r1ch1e &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i'll say 1500 the lowest. not a pro but seen many accidents</TD></TR></TABLE> I agree with this but if there is frame damage it will be more.

Depending on how bad the frame damage is, they could possibly total the car. Its possible.

I doubt the insurance will give enough for a JDM front, especially since you are going to need to get the frame straightened.

Insurance would never pay for putting an illegal front end on your car. The front bumper does not meet US requirements, and the headlights are for RHD, not LHD.

Why not? They just give you the money they owe you and you do what you want with it. But the JDM front end is going to cost a lot more than the USDM front and not worth it in my opinion considering what else you could do with the money you'd save. I doubt it'll be totalled or salvaged but who knows, it's possible depending on how strict and stuff the people are that do that stuff. I suggest getting at least a few estimates from body shops, giving your insurance company the highest (unless they do the estimate themselves), fixing the car yourself with a USDM front end, and using the extra money you have left over on some mods.

Well Mr. n00b.

You can get it quoted out from Insurance and once they cut a check, from there you can spend your money how you want.

USDM front end will be cheaper by far. Buy used parts and have your frame straightened.

man, you might get the hood for like 150 bucks and the bumper for like 50 bucks. getting it painted would be like 300 for oem paint and the labor, and put it on yourself. and the cheapest i found a jdm front end for was 1500, but you still have to pay for labor and paint. so at the end, i think about 2500 for the JDM front end

your car looks just like mine after I crashed it... with frame pulling and parts, ran me about 2g and i'm not happy with the quality of the job either... but I was paying outa pocket anyway. make sure you take that **** to a GOOD body shop. you'll probably needa get the frame pulled, new rad support, possibly new rad, new headlight, and all the other parts that are obvious.

here's a pic of mine:

today i got an offer for 2500 for the car. i wanted at least 3500 for it but he said the damage is too big and will cost about 4k to fix. he told me he use to own a body shop so he would know....
still havent had time to get an estimate from the shop yet but im thinking its about 2k to fix. i can get the fenders, hood and bumper for under 500. after that i would need to pull the frame. new radiator and radiator support.
anyone think i should just let this go for 2500? he told me thats the final price and he wont go any higher.

what's the year and mileage on your car? it's a gsr right? clean title? $2500 sounds a little low. and there's no way that damage is going to cost $4k to fix. the bumper cover will cost ~50, hood ~100, headlights ~100 for a set, radiator ~80, condensor ~40, and paint ~200-300. from the pics it looks like the radiator, condensor, and right headlight might not even be damaged. i'm sure the radiator support can be pulled out for a couple hundred bucks without replacing. this looks like a very minor accident and should cost a lot less than $1k to fix.
