2002 Civic problem?
Hey all, I'm new here, not particularly well-educated about Hondas. My sister has a 2002 LX sedan, 5spd, totally stock. She's got ~10k miles on at, and starting at about 5k miles whenever she comes to an even somewhat hard stop, it makes a sound like something sloshing around in the back. Her dealer told her it was just gas sloshing around in the tank, but if that were the case it should have happened from day one. I don't -feel- anything when I hear this sound, but it still certainly doesn't feel like something that should be happening. If anyone knows anything about this I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

Check her trunk . Make sure everything is secure ie. ( trunk matt , spare tire , tire tools , jack etc etc) if they say its the gas tank , fill the thing up or run it to empty and see if it still makes the noise and tell them that if you take it back to the dealership . Also if possible take it to a different Honda dealer and get their opinion on it (2nd Opinion)
Yeah, she checked her trunk, but I don't know about full/empty. Originally she thought it was the bottle of wiper fluid in her trunk, didn't make a difference. One of my friends suggested water in the tires, but there'd have to be a HELL of a lot of water in them to make that much noise...
gas tank should be design d in a manner where there should be no sloshing around of gas..also, check the spare tire to make sure its tight and not sliding around back there..i had a older honda way back..and had a similar problem..the mounts around the gas tank were loose and the tank was sliding back and forth
