'86 LX to LXi swap
Whats up guys --- i'm new to the forum obviously. I just came up on a free 86 Accord LX. It runs, but it's in pretty bad condition.
From what I can tell it needs a head gasket, rear main seal, new exhaust piping (leaking and missing a muffler) and a valve cover gasket.
I'm sure it needs much more, but I havn't even got it on a lift yet.
Instead of rebuilding the carburated motor, I was planning on taking a trip to ecology and picking up a fuel injected LXi motor.
Has anyone here ever done this swap before? Is there any tips I should keep in mind?
Does the 5spd LX tranny fit the LXi motor? Does the exhaust manifold/piping fit up?
Obviously I'll need the motor, wiring harness, ecu... is there anything else I should pick up?
Alright... enough questions.
Thanks in advance.
