99 Accord Transmission kick from park
When I put my car into reverse from park it kicks with what can be described as a metallic sound. This happens even if I warm up for a while. Is this low fluid or something that needs checking out?

Does it actually kick (jerk) or do you just hear a metallic sound? The latter is normal. It should do that when you put it in drive too.

Its not the trannys fault, Its the drivers fault.
You guys/gals are parking your car incorrectly. Even if it is an auto you still need to pull your parking break up so the weight of the car doesnt get put on the tranny. What happens is you park the car and it rolls a little after you let go of the FOOT BRAKE. If you were to pull the E-BRAKE BEFORE you let your foot of the FOOT BRAKE your problems will stop.
1st: put car into park
2nd: pull e-brake
3rd let foot off foot brake
THEN once you get back in your car!!!!
1st start car
2nd put foot on foot brake
3rd release e-brake WITHOUT letting your foot up
4th put car into gear
FOLLOW THIS AND YOU WILL NOT ONLY MAKE YOUR NOISE GOT AWAY BUT YOUR TRANNY WILL LAST LONGER!!!

It jerks slightly. I do use the e-brake the way described above.
Let me also add that I tried applying the break, putting into park. Turning off the ignition, turning it on and putting into reverse and the same thing happens without even releasing the break.

I have always been doing that on every automatic car and try to get as many people to do this on their cars but morons always say something like " i have an automatic, i dont need to apply my ebrake" i try to explain to them the way you did but a lot of them just give me a dumb look so I stop and say to myself "ok expletive them, let their **** break"
But yeah, even if you do that its not going to help much, I even got a transmission cooler on mine, the trannsmission it self has a defect in it. Today in the mail i got the paper about the lawsuit thats finally going to be happening on December 28th in California against Honda due to such high failure of the transmissions. If we win the warranty is going to be extended to another 9,000 miles to 109,000 instead of the 100,000 that we got now for 2000-2001 models. Also applies to 2000-01 Preludes, Oddysseys, Cl's.

I have a 99 so for some odd reason Im not included in the lawsuit....which is stupid....I have already had my tranny replaced once and have added a tranny cooler and extra tranny filter to the car.
