Default car alarm issues

I have an alarm equipped, but it's not working properly. Sometimes it goes off by itself. Sometimes it doesn't go off at all while the light indicator's on. Does anyone know the works on tweaking the setups on car alarms? I don't know what brand it is. I bought the car with it.

Look under the dash by the steering column (common location). You are looking for a small box with a lots of wires coming out of it. It will have wires that are spliced into your vehicles wiring harness. If it's an aftermarket unit it will have a brand name other than Honda and model number on it. You will have to consult the manufacturers website to see if you can find a downloadable instruction manual.

Alarms usually have brand specific routines for setting sensitivity.
