ABS bypass?

Instead, it locked up momentarily and then just rolled into them. Caused over 5K damage to my S and several weeks in the shop. Every rwd car I've ever owned haven't had ABS and never had that type of accident. Therefore, I want to disconnect the ABS system. Leave it present, but inopperable.
static co-efficient of friction (when the tire is rolling) is greater than sliding co-efficient of friciton in ALL cases. this means that when the tires keep rolling they have WAY more grip than skidding. your car stops quicker with ABS than when you jack the brakes and lock all four up and slide. dont pull your ABS. there is a reason it is banned from many forms of racing...because it works!!!
if you pull the abs fuse, it will be disabled. not a good idea on the street.
threshold braking stops faster than ABS, but it's a skill that takes lots of time and practice to perfect and make instinctual. the hardest part of it is learning how fast you can transition from rolling to full braking without tripping ABS.
had you locked up, there is a strong chance the damage would have been worst.

the brake system works with or without the abs pump engaging at lockup.

I know what is the OP's talking about, although i am not saying the car will stop faster with or without the ABS. almost all the car with abs will stop a tad longer, almost all car.(my generation of accord for example)
it just a simple question, i don't know why everyone's jacking his nuts, the op is not messing with your ABS.
yeah, take out the abs fuse and that should disable the pump, i track my car all the time with the pump disabled, i can brake better without the abs unit after my shared of square tires
not for everyone, yes, but i know alot of track guy perfer without abs(like me)

im sorry...but if you think that you would have stopped faster had you locked up your tires, you're very very mistaken. ABS will stop you faster than locking up your tires in all cases. Threshold braking will stop you faster than ABS, but how many people threshold brake when they're going to plow into the back of a truck or something? Most people just jam the brakes down. leave your ABS on. For the track or the street. Modern ABS systems allow you to stop MUCH MUCH shorter than cars without.
ABS is there for a reason. Honda wouldn't put something on the car to make it less safe and brake worse. Next time give yourself more room when following. I doubt someone pulled out in front of you because if that were the case, you would be more interested in having a post ranting about how people should learn to drive rather than taking out your abs...
it's a damn simple question and i don't know why alot of you guys still have to preach to this.
so here we go, straight from honda's owner manual
"Abs does not reduce the time or distance it takes to stop the car, it only help with steering control..."
yes, no, maybe?
just to say this one more time, the OP isn't about to mess with YOUR abs pump so..yeah

I think theres more than just the ABS motor. There's the 4 wheel speed sensors that connect to the ECU; the ABS runs off of that. If you pulled the ABS fuse, you'd be OK until you actually cross that threshold where the ECU would call for ABS, then the light would be triggered.
