Default guage/instrument lighting help...

ok i just swapped out the blue instument lighting for red ones... however, my instument panel isn't lit up very well.. it's pretty dim.. it was the same with the blue lights as well. and they're turned up all the way but still are dim... can anybody shed some light on how i can make the lights brighter? should i change out the fuses? or is that as bright as it gets for my car?

btw, it's a 94 LS.

any help would be appreciated

Not sure why they would do that. Maby they were bad bulbs, where did you get them from.

I got amber bulbs from autozone. I would not call them bright but they deff arn't dim.
I wonder if there is a way to increase the output by modifying the dim switch to alow it to turn more. Anyone know if this can be done?

i bought 'em at kragen. the victor brand... maybe red just isn't that good.. maybe my wiring is bad... i dunno so far.. but i'm gonna try to find some orange bulbs maybe the output is a little bit better.

anybody ever modded their guage cluster in terms of incresing the output of lighting?

if you got 194 bulbs, try using 168... they might be a little brighter
I'm using red 5-led wedge bulbs and they seem to be bright enough.

You can get the 5 wedge LEDs from superbrightleds.com

You are going to get some dark spots with leds, but they may be a little brighter. Im just using 194 bulbs and they work fine for me.

yeah i juyst picked up some LEDs from wal-mart just to test them out... they're by APC... man, those things are not bright at all.. they were even worse than my original blue bulbs... so i'm returning them right now and gonna see if there's any colored 168 bulbs

btw, does anybody know where to get some really good, bright 168 or 194 bulbs?
