k24 swap in 91 si!

Is this k24a4 any different from other k-series motors or is it about the same. only displacement and horsepower differences?
I want to have a wide aftermarket support so thats why im asking.
Also do you have to get rid of your heater core to do a k-series swap? I want to keep everything normal in my car, to make it comfortable!
