Default preventative measures

I drive a '91 Crx. Recently, someone stoled my cd player. No windows were broken, but my keyhole was tampered with.

So, how do these thieves do it? What did they used to get into my car?

I'm thinking about swapping in a new keyhole. Something thieves won't bypass easilly, but what are there I can get?

Also, I have an alarm equipped, but it's not working properly. Sometimes it goes off by itself. Sometimes it doesn't go off at all while the light indicator's on. Does anyone know the works on tweaking the setups on car alarms. I don't know what brand it is. I bought the car with it.

just put some sedan rear door handles w/o key holes and get keyless entry. there is a write up in the faqs.

Thanks for the advice, 4g4d.

As I have found out recently after the incident, my keyhole was altered with a method known as "punched". How they did it, and what they used, I still don't know. My guess would be, a special device. If so, where the hell are these sold at?! Or what's used to make it? They could've have also used modern day tools and picked it; probably another set of Honda keys, since most old Honda models have that issue.

Again, I am going to have to try swapping in a new set of keyholes. The sedan rear, keyless doors is a good idea, but I'd need to know how to get it done.

Can you link me to the thread?
