Default 91 Si DOHC ZC SWAP.....CODE 9...LIMP MODE...3100rev limit...SEARCHED

ok guys here my problem...i have a 91 civic si with a DOHC ZC engine...it ran fine till swaped the tranny ....weird huh

just swaped the blown L3 for another L3

<U>symptoms-</U>
- started the car and it idles @ 1200rpm
- wont rev past 3100rpm
- i got a code 9 (No. 1 Cyl Pos)
- running rich the spark plugs are fueled up

<U>what i have done-</U>
- checked wires comming from the dizzy plug to the Cyl pos senser (DOHC ZC have it on the exhaust cam)
-had spare sensor and swaped it out (still ran like the same, i did reset the ECU 10amp HAZARD fuse)
-i did check the cam timming and thats dead nuts.

did i forget a ground somewhere?
where else can i look where dose it get its ground side on the circuit...threw the ecu everything went well except this.....

why are you asking what would cause limp mode??? a code nine will definitly cause limp mode. all i can say is that the sensor is messed up.. but check the conection at the ecu. i dont think that would be the problem because you didnt have to mess with the pins but it could be it.

Did you hook up the tranny ground after reinstalling? Code 9 is a timing issue (or like previously said could be the sensor itself), is your dizzy wired up correctly? How did you set the cam timing? It can be a pain in the *** on the DOHC ZC sometimes. What was this "spare sensor" that you swapped out?

Eiether a crank angle sensor, or a faulty ecu.
