Default HELP my civic acting like a mustang 30 mpgs to 20

Hello I have a 98 civic ex and I recently had some parts fixed at the mechanic the engine kept on like jerking when changing gears sometimes it would redline then change gears (my car auto) so i got that fixed i don't know what they did. they also tried to fix my engine when it was on the thing would shake so bad it made this noise sounded like i was a train like a CHung CHUG CHUG sound. they didn't fix the train sound though kinda just dulled it.

to get to the point i noticed my civic is not getting the 30 mpgs it used to get its getting like 20mpgs anyone know why?

and how big is an ex tank? like 8-9 gallons?

He probably just reset the codes. Do you have, or know anyone that has a code reader? Quick and easy way to pull the codes through the OBD-II port. If it took a day for the light to come back on, its probably a sensor out of spec... not something completely broken. The best place to start is to see what your codes are.

Well first off you should post this in the right forum. This forum is for older cars. But I know that on your car there is a plug that you can jumper near the ecu that will flash the check engine light giving you a number that you can then check against a chiltons or helms manuals list of obd-II codes. Then you can figure out whats wrong.

Try posting here with your problem
