Stop working on their bikes then.

Ask the Harley rider if he has to trailer his **** whenever there's a turn in the road.

no... I've just had extreme bad luck... got the bike and immediately had a regulator/rectifier issue. Done a bunch of stuff since. Some because I wanted to, some because I had to.

blah. see how much the frustration has gotten to me. I swear I'm edumacated...

More then likely here I'll get it to a shop and ask them to fix my coolant leak (can't figure out where it's leaking...) and synch my carbs. Hopefully nothing else will pop up...

If it solves your coolant leak problem, then it's totally worth the money.

I thought he might have had a Triumph triple. That would require more work than a Harley. It is british after all

I had a neighbor tell me I work on my Integra more than I drive it.

It's a hobby - tell them to get over it.

i don't think you guys get it... I really do work on my bike all the time. there's been very few times where I've gone a good period of time without incident... And this is a honda that apparently are the most reliable machines ever...

When i got the bike I immediately had a charging issue where the r/r died. took forever to figure that out, got a new battery in the mean time thinking it was that. then once that was fixed it was fine for awhile. Then in the spring I the fork seals died, tires died, cam chain tensioners started to go, broke a valve cover bolt in the process of fixing that, then I had a tuning issue so got some new jets and played around a lil, then got a flat on my new rear tire, my plate light went out (found this out cause I got pulled over...), my headlight went out, blew a fuse while riding cause some wiring came loose, tune somehow got all weird again..., spent a good few weeks fixing all that, then got it running and got another coolant leak which is where I'm at now...

I would be hating life if that were my situation. That's why I stopped wrenching on cages and started riding. Sooo much less work and way more actual seat time and fun!

believe me I'm not a happy camper right now when it comes to my bike. Half the reason lately it's sat is cause I don't have the energy to bother. It'd be one thing if it was winter and I was doing it, but I'm losing out on the last little bit of decent weather

considering that you bought a used bike, you more than likely are inheriting someone elses problems. i wouldnt worry too much. plus they drive slow tanks and you drive a far more refined performance machine. they use technology from the 80's, and thats the 1880's.

A more technologically advanced motorcycle probably does require more maintenance than a paper weight... it goes with the territory. I lost the point of this hogs comment.
