Default callin all honda gods

Alright whats up? I got some money, and my eg hatch is gettin kinda boring. Its stock and i wunna keep it like that as a dd and build me a nice car...

I always had the assumption that crx where sooooo light. But i see that a eg hatch cx or vc weight around 2100 and base crx weight around 2k The hf dabs down into 1800s...Well i read a thing about guttin egs and removing the rear seats and trim you loose like 40lbs...how about crx? This would be for straight lines so im not considering handling. I see 1st gen crx Hf get into the 1700s! gutted and weight reduced would make it 1700 wet?? Im just takin a lot of things into consideration while i build a K, i need to know what to drop it in. I know hybrid racing is working on making motor mounts for k's into EFs, does this include 1g crx? 200hp(to start) k into a 1750 car sounds niiice.

well if you are serious about a k-series then you might as well get a hf. You can make a eg 2000 pounds or lighter...just got to have the pockets

I have a 1st gen CRX HF. Mine is 1580 lbs. with an 86 Si drivetrain and full interior. A B-series is a bit over 100 lbs. heavier. With a gutted interior and K-series, I don't see why you can't stay well under 1700 lbs. And the 1G CRX wouldn't fall into the EF category; EF will be 88-91 only.

A K into a 1st gen is going to be aweful tight, its bad enough in a 2nd gen. My 88 Hf is down around 1500 lbs now, with a d-series, and VERY gutted.

how do u know how much your car weights? I would like to stay under 1700 and with an easy 300hp from a K, it well be smoking. Id much rather have a 2g cuz they are sexy but idk if your 1500 is right...

I agree. A friend of mine has an 88 HF with full interior and well-built D16 that has received as much weight reduction as possible (per his SCCA CSP class), and his car is right at 1800 pounds. I say it's impossible to gut 300 pounds out of the car.

I think it would be pretty sweet to see a K motor in a first gen CRX. I wouldn't want the work either, but 300 horses in a 1700 pound car makes me giddy.

FWIW, our cars were weighed on corner scales, so we know our figures are correct.

He intends to drive straight lines, so it should work fine with a really good suspension setup, tunning of the suspension, and some 22" slicks. There are many drag cars that weigh in close to 1700 lbs.

You can kill so much weight its not even funny. If you have ever stripped a
CRX down to the frame you would know. You just have to have deep pockets...

If you start with an HF you are halfway there, Its just a matter of going through the whole car.
