help on 00 civic suspension setup
Okay, I have two questions for you suspension geniuses out there. My first question is if my Z-10 traction bar is hurting my car's cornering ability? I don't know if it's all in my mind or not, but my car feels like it has an increased tendency to understeer when turning. Also, I have a 00 civic ex coupe, and I wanted to add on a rear sway bar, but I don't want to throw off the car's balance or anything. I was thinking of an oem EM1 si rear sway bar, but would that be a good combination with my stock ex front sway, or is there a better balanced rear sway for my application. So far I have Password JDM front and rear upper strut bars, an OBX rear lower tie bar, Tokico struts and Skunk 2 coilovers along with that Z-10 traction bar. Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated. BTW... daily driver, track driven only about every 2-3 months. Thanks.
The Z-10 traction bar shouldn't hurt performance at all, but you will want to make sure that your caster is set within spec as the traction bar make it adjustable. This could have an effect on handling too.
I think that a good sway bar setup for you would be either the EM1 rear bar, or even an ITR 22mm bar if you want even more agressive, rear biased setup. The EM1 bar can be installed with the stock EM1 parts, but you will need a subframe brace for the 22mm bar (www.asrparts.com).
