Default Help! lock to release seat latch doesnt work!

hey guys over the weekend i installed the fender eliminator kit on my 06 f4i. the key lock was relocated and i did a trial test to see if the seat was able to be unlocked, so i can remove my seat and put stuff in the cargo area. it worked the first time and after i rode around a little bit i tried to test it again. however this time it didnt work! the key turns but nothing happens. my seat is permantely stuck. i have my registration and manual in there and i need to get it out asap. any help would be appreciated. thanx in advance

hm on the banana seat you are going to have some issues. Somehow you are going to have to reach in and unlatch it by hand. When you installed the eliminator kit I am assuming you probably didnt zip tie the latch cable to a central location so that the cable is "taught"

The previous owner of my bike did that and all I needed was a zip tie to correct it. As far as getting it open I have no idea with a banana seat. Once you do get it off you need to do a few test runs where you look at the cable > latch mechanism and you will be able to see what i mean about the cable moving too much.

Try either jiggling the key while prying up on the seat, smacking the latch-side of the seat, turn, counter-clockwise then clockwise over and over, or sawzall that biznatch!
