West Coast ITR Expo feeler....
So how many people here are intrested in a West Coast Expo??
I'm not trying in any way to undercut the guys setting up the East Coast expo. I'm just getting tired of not being able to go and we have many members out here so is there enough intrest to put together one for the West Coast?
Speak.

A lot of people who normally post in RR Forum aren't going to know what you mean by "Expo" and what it is. You're going to have to tell them more.
A great number of the RR Forum regulars showed up for Expo 3 at Beaver Run and instructed there.
You might have more luck talking about this in ITR Forum. I'll move it there if you tell me to do it.
Please also be aware that the West Coast has a reputation for not turning out in huge droves for these kinds of events. With some careful orchestrating and manoeuvring, and using Honda-Tech to maximum effect, maybe you can change that.
Unless you have experience organising these kinds of things yourself, I'd suggest you immediately get the help of people who do know how to get these things going and how to organise them. The national NASA director, Ryan Flaherty, is in your part of the world and maybe it'd be the easiest thing for you to get your Expo tacked onto a NASA event somewhere, or maybe you could talk him into an extra NASA event in No Cal or So Cal Region to accommodate your group.

Yup, we are looking for tech and advice over here.
Are you trying to do something like the So cal Eibach meet?
If so, search and find the guy who was in charge of that. Hell, you could probably do it over there with enough help.

Let's see, here.
https://honda-tech.com/zero...96593 <--This guy's involved with Honda Challenge out there and could probably help you.
https://honda-tech.com/zero...97257 <--This guy's involved with Eibach and could probably provide a lot of insight and might even help with the planning and organisation.
https://honda-tech.com/zero...=4754 <--This guy's with A&J Racing, the Canadian Spoon Distributor, very involved with the enthusiast industry, and would probably be interested in seeing that it worked.
You need a lot more information about how many ITR owners would be interested in an Expo, though. As I said, in the past the West Coast has not turned out well for ITR-enthusiast driving events.

Thanks for the help. Yeah I've heard of the problem with people not showing up and already experienced that problem at Thunder Hill. Not one person from So Cal showed up for the event.
I'm thinking maybe more of a Northern California/Oregon/Nevada type event. I don't want it to be just for ITR's. I also don't want to do all the work so I appreciate the links for help.
Frankly I don't know where to put this thread in a general area but I will start a thread in the forums of Cali, Nevada and Oregon. That might work...

How about just have like a Honda "meet" at some already set-up track day? Then you don't have to worry if no one shows, and have none of the responsibility for organizing it.

ITRCA/ITRCA.com runs the ITR Expos. I think we have a bit of a conflict if we are running the ITR Expo as we have for 6, going on 7 events/years, and you have an event called an ITR Expo. Just wanted to point out that this would be massively confusing.
If you don't plan on basing this event on ITRCA, how about another name or a widening in scope to include more than just ITR's? Or talk to the ITR Expo coordinators about giving some assistance and using that site for information, registration, and through the forums? (im on that expo committee and one of the itrca admins, btw, and would be glad to pass on your thoughts.) Or have a go at it yourself and with the options available to you out west, as GK pointed out. Either way is fine for me. But ITRCA may be incorporating on some level before ITR Expo 7 and the 'name' may become an issue.
Sorry to be like that, we can provide support/site/etc. Or at least we can discuss the possibility.
As far as George's idea for tacking yourself onto a NASA event, good idea. I would definitely do this FIRST before jumping in head first. Its a good way to see what kind of response you get without going all out into an event and all that goes along with planning it with no idea how it will turn out. build a base first through an idea like george's. from there, of course, it could grow into its own event or simply be a run group at a NASA event.
But if we are going to call it an ITR Expo, I think we need to have a discussion. It just makes no sense for two separate parties to use the same name, especially when one is established. We could possibly help you and possibly run the event under the ITRCA flag. I would love to expand itrca in this manner, as it is a more specific audience (and as we do for expo, advertising on h-t helps a lot)... regional type events would be great. Just a thought.
im not advertising ITRCA over anything, but i am pointing out the obvious in terms if itr expo and its relationship to itrca.

I don't think we would have enough cars show up if it were just for ITR's and I wouldn't be able to go.
More like Hondas/Acuras then open for anyone after the first initial registration time or something like that. The idea of simply having an open track day rented for just this "meet" would work just fine. I have absolutely no issue with the name. I just want people to show up.
I'll work on it over the next few days and contact you later to drain you of info...if you don't mind of course.
