Default 3 door to 2dr conversion?

Alright i think my hatch is considered a 3dr(open window up then pop down the bottum part). Well i got a futon(sp) back there and i dont really like the fact that u have to put ur weight on that part to get in and out y'know? can u swap the hatches out?

ps

girls <3 hatches
girls guys with futons in their hatches

Yes, you can remove the hatch. But you won't be able to close the window.

Nope, I haven't heard of anybody trying to convert the hatch to like EF/EK style.

yeah i am worried that the part that flips toward you and lays flat extending the trunk part yknow. But u can stand on it? tight..i thought some eg hatches opens all the way up in 1 piece? hence the 2dr or 3dr hatch thing?

Sometimes you can find the integra listed as a 3dr or hatch. Just yesterday I saw the accord listings as 2dr, 4dr, 5dr (wagon). It mainly has to do with the rear section opening up to the passenger compartment. Most automotive definitions makes that hatch count as a door.

The only way to change this would be to bolt/weld in a new latch, build a sturdy frame to attatch the lower gate to the window, and add some very heavy-duty struts for it all.

The hatch was designed like that. It's not weak...and not that conversion isn't too popular...if anything ... I doubt it's been done...

Don't worry about it break or anything...

It dosent matter if they call it a hatch or a 3dr. A car refered to as a hatch will always be a three door. The word hatch means door.
