K Swap into older Accords?
Okay, I ran across another thread about swapping a K-series motor into 5th Gen Accords that turned sour. Honda has designed many great motors and I respect that people are partial to some of them. Please don't turn this thread into another argument over which motor is better and who knows what. That being said, I currently have the stock F22 (which I love) in my 95 LX but I would like to swap a frankenstein K24 into my car. I know that Hasport has already done a K Swap and that there isn't a kit available yet for the Accord. I'm sure if enough interest is shown Hasport will produce a kit in the near future.

not trying to be an *******, but you can call Hasport and they will tell you what theyre plans are, more or less. However, take what they say with a grain of salt (and that is not meant to demean Hasports reputation as a motor swap specialists)
Ahh, yes... Yet another thread about K-series swaps into Accords.
But, was there a question to all this? I'm just not exactly sure what the point of this thread is...

Maybe if folks keep bugging Hasport they'll make one. There's an 88 CRX running around with a supercharged K24A1. Why not for a 94 Accord? Eh who knows... K24 powered grocery getter probably doesn't sound like appealing advertisement for them.
K24 powered grocery go-getter. Nice. My Accord is heavy and may not be as sought after as a civic or teg, but it is comfortable and paid off. Just want to do something new with it.

I am sure that the mounts will be available at some point soon. I'm sure we'll go through a trendy period where this is what everybody will want to be doing.
Interesting to consider is a K powered Accord in H1 Honda Challenge. We spent time thinking about this and I believe that on many tracks this car could win.
The Accord (and Prelude) are remakably stable platforms when compared to the platforms currently winning. There is a weight problem, but I think the K motor could overcome it.
I can imagine a car like that winning in the twisties at Shennandoah and probably getting through the VIR Uphill Esses about 5 mph faster than other platforms. Something to think about in the future.
There would also be developmental problems related to the paucity of over the counter racing parts for the platform. For example, you know that if you're racing a DC2 you can just go the parts shelf and get some N1-winning coilovers. You can't just go get that with the Accord or Prelude, and it takes some thought.
Anyway....
To the OP, I would caution you to consider how much a K in an Accord is going to cost you compared to an H22 in an Accord.
The H22 in the Accord is going to get you 220 dyno HP for a couple of grand less than a K with the same HP. You will ultimately get MORE HP with the K, of course, but you have to stop and consider whether it's worth spending all that much more money when we already know the H22 Accord is such a pleasant vehicle to drive on the street.

I have taken cost into consideration and I know that the H22 is a proven entity when it comes to Accords, but I am just not interested in doing the H22 swap. There will no doubt be many issues I will have to deal with if I do a K24 swap but I am willing to deal with the problems that arise because of the motor's potential.
In the future I can look forward to a K24. I just want to have the motor and do something that no one usually does. If my plans go right I might be able to after awhile. I think for now, we should all just accept that the H22 is within reach of most of the "average" tuners out there (and I'm not talking about cheap *** ricer 'i want this in my car'). I try to remind myself that the K series is still pretty new on the market. There's no doubt the K24 will most likely be the next H22 (as in a swap so don't throw a fit you F22 folks). To go of on a tangent; they should bring back the Legend. You know those things had a really rare 6 speed available?
