Basically my speedo does not work in my b18c. Which meens no vtec which sucks. It use to respond but I would have to let it warm up for about 10 minutes. But when I hit vtec the guage would go crazy and the car would jump in and out of vtec. But on day I jumped on the highway, and it just died. Im not sure what happened but a shop said, it could be the VSS or the speedometer cap. Now I have replaced the VSS and the gear for the VSS assembly, and to be honest I have no clue what a Speedometer cap is. If anyone could help me out a little I would greatly appreciate it.

its probably just the vss

 

How odd that yours has the same problem as mine... however when mine starts bugging out, I usually just disconnect the Sensor, clean it out a little bit, and plug it back in, and it'll be ok for a lil while... anyway.

No I have 3 VSS now, have tied all of them. And now Its just dead.

I have the same problem had to replace the vss but the speedo still doesn't work and it's still giving me a check engine light when I get the rpm up. I don't know if the cluster will set off the cel though
