AEM CAI pipe diameter for GSR
I have a B18C1 and currently using a custom made CAI with 2.5" piping diameter. Do you think it would be a good idea to move to 3" or should I stick with what I got. What is the diameter of the AEM CAI for a GSR? Thanks.
the gsr aem cai diamiter is 2.5 also, but the itr aem is 3. if you plan on getting a skunk2 intake manifold dont get the gsr intake cause they dont fit right together. get the itr intake if your gona get the skun2 IM.
I spoke with AEM about this personaly. It seems the 2.5 AEM is good for a mostly stock vehicle I/H/E, as soon as you start adding cams then the 2.5 might be a bit on the small side, especially considering the length of tube the air has to travel.
Since alot of GSR owners install cams and still retain the factory intake manifold I explained it would be nice if they offered an intake that would be sufficient for average modifications.
They told me if they have enough demand they would consider it. I would drop AEM an email expressing you interest in a 3" CAI, after all if they designed the R with a 3" intake I dont see why a GSR wouldn't benefit drom a 3" either.
Thats why I did this.

AEM CAI for the GSR is 2.75" and i was told that 3" piping will not fit through the resonator hole so that why its 2.75"
