should I get a tig or mig
First off, I did search (but did I search good enough?)
I'm looking for a welder. First job is replacing some rusty body panels so a MIG would problably be the simplest. But I am thinking, maybe I should get a TIG and just take the time to learn it and use that for bodypanels, and then later have more options welding "nicer" stuff?
Not sure if you guys got esab over in the states, but I am looking at 2 different welders and can't decide which I should get... I'm looking at an esab LKA 180 Mig welder, and an esab Aristotig 160s (DC only). Price is about the same, although the mig includes the tank.
Give a noob some advice

each one has its use and place. I tend to use my tig more for one off items and precision work. But for mass production, the mig has to be 4x faster than tigging and in a production enviroment and a product that allows to be mig welded thats a ton of $$ and time.
From the sounds of your project you could get away with a mig if it was cheaper

It's really hard to find a good mig with a decent price. This time I think I have found one, but it's an auction, so hopefully I'll win it, and it won't cost too much.
The TIG option really wasn't an issue untill I found this forum
I'll just get the mig first and maybe look for a tig when I got some money left over (but that's probably never gonna happen since I got 2 little boys to feed!) :D
Thanks!
