Will the sudden slight loss of aerodynamics result in the car being unstable at high speeds?

Very nice mount though.

That is nice. Wonder how prone to distortion it is due to vibration? Since that is not exactly the most soild part of the car, nor do those brackets look beefy enough to handle a hard shift...

Ever see Getaway in Stockholm? If you did, you remember how cool the footage looked from the front bumper?
I myself would have put something on the sides as well. Say fo some unexpected reason the car get's wet. we do live in the Pac NW you know................

Been there, done that... Quality sucks ***... I'm still playing with it, trying to get it better, but anything that is not as bright as the surface of the sun looks like ****.

Good stuff
I kinda did the same thing.
I did not want to risk damaging an expensive camcorder, so i used inexpensive spy cameras.

This is my test one with a real cheap spy camera. Since then, I have bought a better spy camera with better colors and resolution. I am still working on it at the momeny.

Here is a clip of the old cheaper camera i used as a test. It was real small and was moutned to my lisceneplate bolt. As tiny as a dime.
You will need divx5 to view

http://twisted-star.com/minty/externalcruise.avi

My new setup costed me about 90 bucks.
60 for the bullet spy cam and powersupply
10 for long rca cables
20 for a power inverter
The inverter powered the camera and my vcr
Vcr was used to tape it

More comming soon

Yea I did the same thing with an x-10.

$45 for the x10
free inverter, borrowed
free VCR, had it in my room
free TV (ya gota aim it), borrowed

I've got to put a new video caputure card in my machine tonight so hopefully if it works i should have video by tomorrow. Everything just looks kind of green cause it is not bright enough. I am going to try and mount the camera out side of the car so hopefully it will get a little more light.

One good thing, is its a fixed focus camera so there is no worry about it focusing on the window or anything else.

Craig - Who really wants to mount it behind the tire and watch the suspension go up and down

It's a very cool viewpoint to record footage from. But will it pass scrutineering for track use? Cheers.
