You can make anything work with a little fabrication, and a little money.... But my question would be, why do you need "dampers" for your hood anyways? Does the OEM prop not work?

I've got an RSX and I don't even have hood dampers. There like $200. I rather buy some brings and my some utilities with that money.

(And that's just what I did )

They are the same as RSX for our cars
But they don't work with CF hoods, too much tention will bend/ crack the CF.
Stock hood no problem.

$150 (USD) is the going rate, if I'm not mistaken. It's a simple mod for lazy tuners.

All mods seem to start out simple. Until you find yourself in Wal-Mart at 8pm, looking for a DIY fix for something that happened along the way.

I agree 100%, but they are still goo bulbs

And to Fvent, how is adding a piece thats $150, that replaces a piece that works just fine with no added benefits, not rice?

Because it's an upgrade. People replace stock seats all the time. They work fine, but they want something different, something that looks better.

I upgraded my seat because I have a weak lower back, and the OEM seat didnt support it enough, and I would have back spasm's if I sat in it to long.

Also, most unricer's upgrade seats to provide increased lateral support, as stockers provide barely any.

On a Side note, tomorrow I go see if the Recaro SR2 i want to buy will fit my Momo Corse rails, If it does The speed will be sold, and I will be the proud new owner of a SR2, it need a reupholster on the lower half, but my friends grandpa used to reupholster furnature for a living, so he said he would do it for free i just gotta get the material.

Its a STEAL, im paying $300 Canadian ( 260 US) for it.

( You can see the 2 flaws, 1 Cigarette burn on right side of bottem bolster, and a tear on the top of the left bottem bolster.

I think you're the ricer, who puts 1 Recaro in a 7thgen and leaves the other seat stock You're saying Tein hood dampers are rice? I never knew Tein was rice. haha.....Leave it to someone who puts 1 Recaro in their car. lol

Tein Hood Dampers are not rice... it does serve a small purpose, and its not something that is flashed around as you drive anyways like "Super Plasma" lights that are over priced for something that serves no purpose besides looks. We can keep going on and on about what is "rice" and what is not but I'll leave it at that. Just because you do not want to spend 150$ on Hood Dampeners, doesnt mean its rice.

Now, I don't feel that Hood Dampers is a "rice" move, but changing out just your driver's seat is definitely not a ricer move. I've seen hundreds of modified cars with that done to them, just so the driver has more support and most weekend SCCA drivers do that to their daily driver (if they use it for the races) for safety reasons. It's a smart move for anyone who feels any slight discomfort in the stock seats.

I dont see how having a better, brigher headlight is no purpose. Personally the clearer I can see the road at night, the better.

I have to agree, upgrading from stock Sylvanias to PIAA "Xtreme Force" bulbs made driving at night way easier, plus they're super white, so it's nice.

Hood dampers aren't really rice, they're just a billet item... and most billet items really serve no "need" purposes, but it's a pretty cool gadget, my buddy has Vision Hood Dampers for his EG and they're pretty sick... again, it's just another billet item.

no benefits? i guess the shocks holding up the hood without having to put a huge stick to hold it up, which sometimes gets in the way when you are installing/removing stuff from the engine bay, isn't a benefit. to me that is. even though i dont have these hood dampers, i'd love to have them, not for bling, but for functionality.

to each his own though. IMO, one red seat with the rest stock = rice. no matter how functional it is to you. at least get the 2nd one.

but your tastes, different from mine.

Hmmmm... I wouldn't really say its for functionality... CF hoods are for functionality, weight loss right? But I think it's a dangerous idea to have a CF hood + Hood dampers... you never know what will happen.

Going too fast with D17... zoom zoom... CF hood in your windshield

i had those bulbs back in the day, i thought the same thing, after one blew out, and i went back to the stock bulbs, not only could i see further down the road, everything was lit up better, and not "blue"

i was never going back to these "hid" look bulbs - basically, all it put out was a blue-ish white glare in front of you, ever see someone with them drive next to you on the hwy? you'll notice how bad the light output is.

once i saw the difference, i was never going back to these ricey bulbs. i went with catz 4300k, NOW THATS A DIFFERENCE

if i had the money, and the willpower, i'd do a retrofit, but i dont . being poor sucks.

Yea... PIAAs are known for dying after 6 months or so, unlucky people have them die in 2 months.

True, if you want more lighting... HIDs are the only way to go, but please retro-fit... HID + EM2 reflectors is MAD GLARE... the light just goes everywhere, no good.

mostly no one recommends CF hood + dampers because it stresses the cf too much, leading it to crack (from what i hear).

i'd never do that mix anyways, but i think its functional in my eyes, it frees up the engine bay, like if you were removing the engine, or installing a turbo, the hood prop isnt in the way, worth the $150 to me.
