Default Help with coilovers? theyre frozen

I decided to lower my car some more today(koni threaded coilovers) and i took the wheel off, lowered the bottom perch, but the top one wouldnt budge. i tried using wd-40 and pb blaster but it wouldnt move. When i tried loosening it, the entire threaded sleeve would rotate. any ideas?

you just need 2 big pairs of channel locks.

maybe put a towel around the sleeve so you dont mess up the threads

try going up first..to break all that dirt and stuff thats stuck between the coils and perch...try cleaning the coil it self first before lowering it to get all that dirt out of it...

i had this problem a while back. I did wat b16ej1lsd advised. I used a towel to wrap around the coilover, then used a channel lock to keep it from turning. Then you could use a second channel lock to turn the other perch.

let PB soak for awhile as well. WD-40 sucks compared to PB blaster

This happened to me last winter. Get a good can of PB and spray that mother good. Top and bottom. Then basically like they said before use a pair of big channel locks. Please use a towel or something. YOU WILL RUIN THE THREADS! It might be easier to have a friend help. Since the car is in the air the Spring should have play so basically put one Channel Lock under it and use the other on the perch. Have both at less than 90 degrees and just turn outward on both. Should break nicely and once moved a few threads respary PB and it should run up and down smoothly.
EDIT:
If only one Channel Lock is availabe have a friend once again like step above place towel and then hold tight while you use a nice big flat head or chizel if you have one and hammer it to the left to break loose.
Channel lock handles should be held closed with on hand with firm grip. Try adjusting to get the best grip with only one hand.
