A buddy of mine bought this manifold for his E30 (BMW 325i) and we were just wondering what do some of you think about it? He knows he has to modify it for a wastegate flange.

Construction / worksmanship looks identical to a Toyota 7M manifold a friend of mine got of eBay for $50, except that one looks a little bit "nicer."
I kindly told him I won't be fixing it when it cracks/breaks/falls off since it'll be cheaper to build him one properly.

In pic #14 (inside of the collector), it looks like there is a hole, or perhaps a blowthrough that was welded over again.
Overall, to me it looks like thin material that was MIG welded with a low-amp pulser pass with a TIG to make it look like it was fully TIG-welded.

That's one of the better ones I've read in a long time.

I was sent one of these manifolds to add an external wastegate. After having to cut the middle of the flange to get it to slide over the studs and the fact that it hit the oil filter the customer had me send it back to him. I happened to also have an ssautochrome rb25 manifold in the shop at the same time and everything material and contruction wise was identical.
Cant really say much else about it since im a little biased but we all know the ssautochrome story

My buddy just won a ebay auction for a HOLSET WH1C TURBOCHARGER. He's gonna try the manifold out and probably brace it a bit more, if not he's looking at the 666fab ones. By the way the manifold is not made by ssautocrome it's by another company located out of B.C.
So we'll see how it goes

I have the 'turbo adapter' from 666fab and I'm really quite happy with it. Unless your buddy is shooting for 400whp or higher, the cheap turbo adapter should be fine. The head on the M20 is a far greater limiting factor than the manifold.
