I've had the civic for about two years. I've been debating about whether I should build the d17 or not. The k20 swap wasn't financially possible. Well, I may not have to decide now: since the car very well might be totalled. I was turning on a green arrow and some douche decides to run a red light and smash into my right side. Two other people were in the car, but we're all all right.
This happened last night around one. I'm taking it to the body shop monday to get an estimate to send to the insurance company.
The frame may be bent, I'm not really sure. I'm still not thinking properly.
What should I do guys?

I'll try to get better pictures up in place of these soon. They don't really show the worse part of the damage.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do.. help?

no, the airbags would only deploy in a front collision. i don't have side airbags
i've decided to part out the car, and i'll probably make a topic in the FS section here.
I'm not exactly sure what car to look at next. We'll just have to see.
Offtopic: What should I ask for the Enkei Evo 5's? They're 18" and the tires (toyo proxes) are fairly new.
Thanks for everything guys

I totally agree with Justin, that thing is done.
But it looks like it structurally held up the way it is supposed to from the photos... Good thing you and the 2 passengers walked away.
Just make sure and make their insuance company take care of you... You may have a fight on your hands.

7-10k though.
anyone slightly hurt? get a lawyer.</TD></TR></TABLE>
There is definitely frame damage. On the last picture you can see the kink in the rail that lines the exterior of the car.

my body guy called
the car ISN'T totalled
Apparently there is around 8k in damage, but it isn't totalled. Does that makes any sense to anyone here?
I'm still a bit confused.

Usually a car is considered to be totalled if the amount needed to repair it equals at least 75-80% of it's fair market value.
I am totally suprised this is not a total loss.

As am I
The question remaining is.. When it gets fixed, what would be a better idea?
A.) k20
B.) Turbo the d17
C.) Sell it, start with something else
In early March (late febuary perhaps) i'll be recieving a sum of money. I'm sure I could finance either of the three options. I've done research on the first two. I'm just wondering if the RSX-S motor would be enough for me. Does anyone have experience with k-swapped EM2 chassis cars here?
I'd love some information.
Thanks

yep, never the same
I'd just take the insurance $, get it fixed and sell it, or sell it as is.
cut your losses now
parting it out is going to be a pain in the ***
