Hey do any of you know where i can tap some wires into the headlight/tach light switch. I want these lights to turn on with my headlights and want to wire them in or around the dash into a maybe a 12V source that is opperated by the headlight switch. Anyone have any info or pics that would guide me in the right direction? Thanks

 

depending on how easy it is to get to your radio you can grab the illumination wire from there....or down in the fuse box there are spade terminals, you can use a multimeter to find which is for the parking lights...hope this helps

 

find the fuse that works with the lights and wrap some of the wire around the metal part of the fuse and put it back into the fuse box...a little ghetto but if done right will work beautifully

which wire would that be.... I have a stock honda radio, a 97 civic ex.

ah yes, good idea... but i'm gonna have about 20 other wires going to the same place so i'm not sure how great that would be to put them all to the fuse.

sounds like an electrical fire waiting to happen.

 

so anyone then have a pic or tell me the location of this radio wire i can tap into or still yet a headlight switch wire?

since you have an ek i wouldnt tap the wire at the back to radio, to much trouble. use a multimeter and find the spade terminal in the fusebox, testing each one until you find the one for the parking lights. there should be 4 or 5 spades. its a positive trigger comming from there so wiring should be plug and play. you can connect to it with an insulated speaker terminal. the spades are fairly easy to see..

Thank you! but what is the definition of a "spade" and what does it look like?

 

its the male version of a speaker terminal...(the piece you slip on a speaker when hooking it up)...they are slighty recessed in the fusebox, but easy to see if you have a flash light..good luck
