Anyone use the NLR AMS1000?
So, I talked to a few mustang guys that are running these boost controllers on their boosted setups, and they love it. Anyone in the import world actually using one? I've heard of a few people that have bought them, but haven't gotten any feedback on actually using it. So to anyone that uses it, is it worth it? I know it has alot of features that sound few friendly to the fwd cars. Just looking for some info on how hard it is to install, if its user interface is easy to use?
Its a chunk of change, and I'm looking for something to bring my A game with
I don't wanna hear about any of you telling me to use the Profec, Apex, or Innovative. I already know about their features and problems.

Im running full boost the whole track. Im done with multi stage boost controllers. lol. If you get the front end alignment setup you will be suprised to see how much boost you can run from the hit to the 330.

On a good track, yeah. Most of the **** tracks that i've run on won't take much until 3rd gear.

the user interface is very easy as well as installation. If you wanna hold off and see for yourself we have a booth at the PRI show in orlando (#3054).
We will have 2 live displays with wategates , co2 with full functions for people to try for themselves.

Ill be in the market for a better EBC this winter. Currently Im just running a Greddy EBC.
I think I want to go with something that allows boost control in each gear, such as the AVCR. What are the main differences between the AVCR and the NLR? I dont want to have to worry about hitting buttons and switches, etc.

ive never used the avcr, but i can tell you the ams boost control is on point... does datalogging, boost per/gear or time. adjustable ramp rates. this thing is awsome and its very easy to use.

sure it looks nice and here it works but how long and how much time will it take to get it setup right. im scared it might take me forever to get it set right.
How long does it take? Well thats not the boxes fault. It would be yours. Writing the program takes me about 2 minutes. The box isn't gonna tell you how to set your car up. What you need talent at is giving an educated guess at what boost to run at that point of the run.
um i know its not the boxes fault. ok let me ask this , how long do you think it takes to get this unit dialed in. can it be done in a few passes.
It will take some time to get perfect, it's an ongoing process. I dial my boost controller in better and better every time the car sees the track. When you have that capability, that's when you get faster and faster. The fact that this will take some time to get perfect doesn't mean that something easy to setup is better. Anything that's this capable will take time to get right. Realitically, you should be able to get it close in a few passes, but if you're smart, you'll continue to tweak it pass after pass.

i love my NLR, and i get probably about 10 pm's a day on here of people asking me how i like it, how to set it up, etc.
its very simple to install as long as you read the instructions (BRET--haha) set up is very easy too.
i didnt really get to take full advantage of the controller b/c i had too big of wastegate springs in it to really dial in the timers down low since there wasnt a huge difference in boost pressure in first and 2nd.............however if i find some money somewhere for next year with smaller springs and c02 it will kick all kinds of ***.

do you have to hit any buttons or switches for the solenoids to activate? or are there inputs that recognize sensor readings and whatnot? Im not running that much boost so I think its probably over kill for my setup.
on the time based you have a switch to turn the program on then have a button or have every you want it wired to clutch output on the box hit and hold that resets the program and when you leave let go to start the program. but i wouldnt know how it works after that hahaha
does anyone know if you can set it up to run boost by gear? and how does the unit get triggeed to switch boost maps by gear? and can anyone show me a picture of the co2 setups? thanks again for the help.
for one I'm not lazy as anyone can tell you, second of all it doesn't tell you how it triggers it. their site gives you a list of features, but does not tell you how to set it up for a honda.
